Venezuela on the brink…
Elections in Venezuela are this coming Sunday and it’s impossible for me to predict an outcome. It’s not hard to root against Chavez, considering this man gives shelter to Colombian narco-guerillas, funds the murderous campaigns of Lula and Evo and goes out of his way to spread his hatred for democracy. Chavez is bad for South American integration, he has recalled ambassadors and diplomats from Colombia, Peru and Argentina, obviously he’s not interested in integration or continental cooperation regardless of what he claims. Hypocrisy is a general trait of politicians in South America; Chavez embodies this trait with fervor. Chavez has also decided to embark on the extremists’ broken-record campaign against Israel, probably stemming from a personal hatred for Jews and their State. He is no friend to libertarians, he has done immense damage to laws that protect private property in his country, greatly expanded government and has been downright violent towards his critics in the media, on the streets and in congress. But to be fair, Chavez and I have one opinion in common, we both think Bush is an imbecile, we happen to share this opinion with most people in this planet save that slice of population whose IQ falls below 85. I wish the people of Venezuela good luck in ousting this neo-fascist from power. Venezuela is a nation of immense potential choking in the mediocrity of the new ‘Bolivarian’ elite that has nothing but contempt for the citizens of this nation. Good luck Venezuela!
